Anyone else find this?[/quote] My Euro5 is really light, well it's the lightest Euro5 I've ever tried and that's probably due to it being Alder/Poplar. I think the stretching is down to the fact that the top horn is a bit shorter than some basses and so it hangs slightly further away from you. He did all the bass opening tracks (rain when I die, would? etc) with the Spector though and it sounded laaaably! Basically if you want growl, massive bottom end or like effects, can't go wrong with a Spector. I own 2 and sold one: REX2000/5 in Black - Sold this after putting EMG 40P5 and 40DC in it along with Fretware blocks and 18V mod. Was great but neckdived, sold it as it wasn't getting played. NSJH5CM - Fretless US Bolt on. Incredible, it was 40TW in the bridge and a 40J in the neck, but I traded the TW for a DC and never looked back. TW is warmer but I think the DC brings out the mwah a little more. Neck is superb, I prefer it to every other Spector neck if I'm honest. Euro 5LX - 2009 model with black hardware. Absolutely stunning, so close to the US neck through's it's untrue. I feel this is easier to play than other basses with thinner necks ie Ibanez just because it's "right". Tone is huge and the action is ridiclously low. I take the preamp out though, same on all my basses. Also, as for Alex Webster, I'd say he's more associated with Modulus than Spector. The last couple of Cannibal Corpse albums are Spector and you can hear the big, tight bottom end whereas his Modulus tone is a little dirtier. His Spector sounds best on the Blotted Science album though, and it's only running into a POD! P.S. If your Spector has EMG HZ's and the tone isn't quite "there" go for an 18V mod which is simple or consider changing to real EMG's. Best thing I ever did. They really are magnificent basses, particularly the Euro and US ranges..... they look sexy, are incredibly comfortable to play and have the most almighty growl! One more thing..... I may have a couple of my prize Spectors for sale (don't worry, that still leaves any in my collection!). Nowt wrong with them.... I just need some dosh for a very special purchase!
