Bought by me from new (late summer 2005), from the US. It does a great job. Simple to use and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Here's the link to the manufacturers web site: http://www.aphex.com/pedals.htm

"The 1404 gives clean, transparent compression for all instruments, from subtle to extreme amounts of compression without altering your tone or breaking up. Punch through the mix, live or studio, with enhanced tone and total dynamic control."

and who am I to argue with that :)

As I said it was bought by me from new, and was lightly used for rehearsals and a few gigs. It is not mint, but is in very good condition. I sold it once before (to Beedster), when I thought i didn't need it, then I bought it back from him about 6 months later, when I realised that i missed it!

Price wise, one went on basschat for £55 recently, and I saw one go on ebay in the last couple of weeks for £59. So I think if I say £55 incl p&p and any Paypal fees, it's a pretty fair deal.

I'd consider a trade for a quality octaver or envelope filter. eg EBS or similar. But mainly looking for a sale.

By the way, I'm selling this as I've just bought a Demeter Compulator (which also is a optical compressor) from kjb, so I'm moving it on...

Cheers
G
