Happy Jack Posted September 25, 2009 Share Posted September 25, 2009 Fascinating - these come up very, very rarely. This one's not quite as "all-original" as he claims. The guitar control plate is new and the knobs on it look like original knobs from a Type 185 bass or maybe a Colorama guitar. I'd be surprised if this instrument originally had non-matching tuners for bass and guitar, though with Hofners anything is possible. And it would be astonishing if a double-neck lasted nearly 50 years without needing a neck re-set yet there's no visible evidence of any repair work ... so this could be a restoration job.
