bassura Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Hi there, I’m not very comfortable with the truss rod thing, so I need some wise advise My bass is a Fender PB ’57 reissue (Japan) and the neck is far too curved. I already made a try, and turned the screw clockwise with a phillips screwdriver, at the end of the neck where the screw of the truss rod is. And it didn’t seem to work. Maybe it got the thing even worse, I’m not sure (did I already say I’m not feeling comfortable with truss rods?). So, does someone know if the truss rod on that specific bass has to be adjusted a different way than the majority, I mean, in this case, do I have to turn the screw counterclockwise in order to straighten the neck? King Tut Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 It's clockwise to tighten the rod and thus straighten the neck. Just do it about 1/4 of a turn at a time then retune and leave for a day. Thx for your help![/quote] seems you are turning it the right way...clockwise looking on the end of the screw..any end of the neck should flatten didnt know a phillips screwdriver did the trick are you sure its turning ok...thought it would be an allen key Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Turning the truss rod nut clockwise will cause the headstock to bend backwards away from the body (backbow).
