tdizzle
Hello, I have a couple of 70s Jazz Bass that need fret jobs (74 and 76). I want to get as close to the original fret size as possible. Does anyone know what size Fender used in the 70s? The frets seemed to be lower and wider in profile than what you see today. Thanks
Musky
I can't say I know the actual size of Fender fret wire, but Fender do sell frets marketed as vintage fret wire.
The Bass Doc
Fender's vintage fretwire is to early 60s specs - quite thin - 70s should be wider. Maybe their 'standard' size would be more appropriate.
