It features a chambered swamp ash body with resonant chambers to enhance the tone, as vibration is key to coaxing the most sound from the wood. It also includes a beautiful AAAA flamed maple top, black basswood quarter-sawn composite fingerboard. Every bass can also be equipped with HexFX Technology that provides individual string outputs, along with a summed mono output, to a 13-pin DIN connector. The resulting output enables full synth access, individual string processing and modelling, as well as the use of a fanout box. The optical pickup technology provides ultra-fast and accurate tracking, glitch free and with no latency and no false triggering. The tonal possibilities are unlimited! Beedster Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago That looks like it can really sing, also a hell of a lot of bass for the money 👍 Quote
Hellzero Posted 20 minutes ago Posted 20 minutes ago A few months ago I would have bought it instantly, but as I don't play bass, but only piano, anymore since then... Excellent bass, I had a few over the years. That said, this one looks like a very first generation model made by the original company: Lightwave, not Wilcox. Beware that you have to know how to set up the optical system ("sensing diodes"), which is explained in PDF here: https://www.willcoxguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Willcox-Guitars-LightWave-Systems-Saber-User-Manual.pdf And with a video here: And how a fiver sounded in 2009 under Ed Friedland's fingers: Quote
