JS Bach for Bass by Joaquin des Pres is a good one if you want to do more than just running up and down arpeggios, as is Jonas Hellborg’s ‘Chord Bassics’ which is literally pages of chord diagrams - but equally useful to a bassist who wants to improve their playing and theory.

Thanks Paul, I remember seeing the JS Bach book before, I'll order a copy of that one, also the Jonas book as well, it costs peanuts so well worth a punt

There’s a lot of good material out there. Gary Willis’s Fingerboard Harmony is a good one, showing you how to practically apply a lot of this theory.
