tauzero Posted Wednesday at 01:51 Posted Wednesday at 01:51 Is anyone experimenting with a PiPedal by any chance? Just wondering whether to spend a bit of time putting together something else I won't use. Quote
rwillett Posted Wednesday at 06:42 Posted Wednesday at 06:42 I looked at this before and it seemed a well thought out project. Sensibly the dev used decent and separate USB Audio hardware and a Web interface. If you have decent usb audio hardware and a pi already, I think it could be a cheap and quick project. The software looks OK as well. I've got the parts just sitting here doing nowt (by chance and not by design) but not really wanted another project to work on. I didn't look into the build tool chain to see what was needed but assumed it would work. I already have a ToneX and a mod dwarf so another modeller seemed overkill for me, especially as it had a separate USB interface, which might be an advantage to some people. Most pi projects seem to use an audio hat and these don't have the quality IMHO. Go for it, I'd be interested in how it works and sounds. Rob Quote
rwillett Posted Wednesday at 07:20 Posted Wednesday at 07:20 And to really mix things up as well https://github.com/mikeoliphant/stompbox Never built either StompBox or PiPedal. StompBox gets some great writeups from people. Perhaps a winter project over Xmas? Rob Quote
tauzero Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago Tried the PiPedal on a Pi 5 with a Hifiberry DAC+ but it didn't want to know - not sure why, as I did the correct config amendments and it shows up in aplay. However, from the discussion forum it looks like USB interfaces are the recommended way forward, so I've decided not to waste any more of my life on that - it'll get put to other purposes. I've got a Presonus Studio 24c incoming to play with so I don't have to start unwiring the other USB interfaces I have littering the house. More news next week sometime. Quote
