CliveT Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Looking for a replacement P bass neck but don't want to spend £300 + for a Fender neck. Northwest Guitars do a P bass neck for around £130 and they get good reviews. How do they compare to Fender? The neck shape says it's modern C which is the same as modern Fender basses. Would it feel very similar? Are they a comfortable neck to play? Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I don't know about the NW necks, but If you're not in a hurry to buy and want a top quality neck, check the prices of the Fender necks on Amazon as they tend to go up & down. A couple of months ago I managed to snag a fantastic Fender Precision to Jazz conversion neck (i.e. a jazz neck with a precision decal) for £211. The fretwork was perfect without needing any levelling etc, the pre-drilled holes meant that it was quick & easy to fit, and it has a thin finish (satin on the back, gloss on the front of the headstock) which makes it feel like a played-in neck. It came with a nut fitted which just had pilot slots cut, so it needed slotting & shaping which I had done at the Gallery. Quote
