I actually put that to Ned Steinberger himself, and he said that for all kinds of reasons he will never be involved in reissuing that bass, and most likely no one else would either. It's a shame because if someone were to make a proper reissue of the original L2 then they could have my money, for sure. Well I prefered the construction of the L2, more of a resin with real density, I liked my streamline but just couldn’t bond with the shape, the S2000 was nice but I just couldn’t get the action I wanted, and having no truss rod there was nowhere to go in terms of adjustment (unless it went back to Rod involving heat treatment) it sounds cool all this no truss rod business but I don’t think they all stayed perfectly stable, and……i unashamedly cashed in on ‘Rob’s not making anymore’ hysteria🤣 1 Quote
