Amazing how the red has faded when not under the scratchplate.

The bit with no red under the pickguard isn't faded, the red never used to be sprayed in that area as it wouldn't be seen.

I haven't lemon oilled it for a while, and the photo is only a phone photo, so all those things could affect the colour, although just checking against a Gibson ES135 and Fender Jap Jazzmaster, it is slightly lighter than the fingerboards those two

It looks like a lot like my 2005 MIM - they definitely don't spray the under pickguard part to 20 cents or something #everylittlehelps

They don't spray on the lower part, sure, but they do on the upper part, so you can see there's still a bit of red under the pickguard on the upper section, but its faded where exposed to the light.
