Howdy

Been using flats for years. Now doing an Echo and the Bunnymen tribute, Echoes of the Bunnymen- and the flats were ok for the early songs, but Les Pattinson has a very trebly sound later on. So bought some Elites ground wound - please note I do NOT want to use round wounds - can’t go back- the Elites are giving me nice twang and sustain, but sticky (hoping this is coating that’ll fade)

Want to get some for the other bass - what do you think are brightest but smoothest? Ian Allison, GHS … your esteemed thoughts appreciated - also need medium to higher tension as Les plays a fair bit of very fast picking.

Brightest pressurewounds I have used are SIT Silencers. Brightest flats I have used are Chromes. Maybe worth trying one of those?

I've not used ground/pressure wounds as far as I remember, but Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats are way brighter than D'addario Chromes, and they stay bright. Maybe not as bright as fresh rounds, but certainly a lot more so than all the other flats I've used. I love 'em and so do my 4003 & thunderbirds. I have not tried them on a precision yet, but I have a set on order ready for when I get my bitzer back this week from the gallery where it is having some work done.
