Mizzle Posted yesterday at 14:53 Posted yesterday at 14:53 I'm currently running one of two pedalboards (at the moment doing the smaller one as it's easier to lug around). I use the Stomp on either board not two stomps and all ready have some pedals I'm looking to move on. (Bottom row including the B7K etc I think the Proton I have is a V2) My dilemma is do I sell the bigger board as well as it doesn't get much use and perhaps put it towards something else? Or sell X amount of the pedals and make the smaller board a analogue board with a nice preamp for example? Quote
Sibob Posted yesterday at 16:25 Posted yesterday at 16:25 There’s a number of caveats, but for a quick response, I’d put the MXR Octave back on the small board and run with that setup. The Stomp is extremely capable of copping all the sounds you might need. Additionally, I’d be more inclined to dump the DCX (I wasn’t impressed with either side of it) and utilize the Wren & Cuff Fuzz instead. But yeah, kinda largely depends on your type of music/gigs etc. Si 1 Quote

But I would get a D’addario xpnd, wire it with the B7K (though I’d personally go for something from Sushibox or a DG Element) at the end, with the board slightly pulled out. This will give you enough space on the main board for Tuner - Comp - MXR BOD and 2 other pedals of your choice (C4/Aftershock 🤷♂️). Get to the gig, slide the board open stick the stomp between the B7k and the other last pedal. That would give you more or less all the functionality of everything I’m seeing here in a very compact easy to carry setup. 2 Quote
Mizzle Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Sorry good points, I play mostly classic rock covers GNR, Bad Company, Free etc in my current band and do the odd dep for another band that does funk and soul. For the main band we cover NIB which I've recently dialled in a filter and a distortion to get away with it. The C4 and Aftershock I think have better sounds but a bit harder to work without the midi integration. DCX seems to work ok for me but I can see why some do not like it. Quote

Is there an amp in the mix of this? I’d either embrace the stomp and have that do all this or have fun with a bunch of drive pedals. The Kasleder Albatross, SGFX Beta MK1 or 2 would work well. But if you’re attached to the Cali and DCX, I’d add a JPTR Jive and the Proton and the aesthetic would be 👌 Quote
Mizzle Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Using a Genz Benz Streamliner and Barefaced Compact for 95% of the time. Odd occasion we might do gigs where we are going through a proper PA so a DI would be useful (do have the JDI). I do like both the stomp and the Origin Effects stuff, perhaps I could as above change it up for the smaller one and use the stomp with bigger one, and take for example the comp off as it's not really needed. The smaller board I'm wondering if I've got enough power with only the expander 4 (guess depends what I put on it). Quote

I’d run Cali - DCX - Stomp then, get a sol underneath a nano and drop the JDI on the floor for ampless gigs. Keep the tuner if you can fit it. Simple and then the rest, sell it 🤷♂️, put it all on a nano+ for fun 🤷♂️ whatever suits Quote
LukeFRC Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago the most important question I think is "what brings you joy" - I sold my C4 as the UX/UI was not fun. I rebought the HX stomp as I enjoy using it and it sounds good. Quote
