jazzyvee Posted Thursday at 09:14 Posted Thursday at 09:14 (edited) Unable to find any of this size. Any pointers. Preferably from UK seller. Something like this. New or used. Edited Thursday at 09:17 by jazzyvee Quote
BigRedX Posted Thursday at 12:09 Posted Thursday at 12:09 I suspect that the 5U height specification might be the sticking point. IME ready-made light-weight plastic racks tend to come in multiples of 2 or 3 units depending on the brand. The only ones I have seen that don't conform to this are custom-made plywood with aluminium cladding rack cases which are much heavier. You may have to go for 6U to get something suitably light-weight. Quote

Dan Dare Posted Saturday at 10:48 Posted Saturday at 10:48 I'm pretty sure that SKB model is 3U (I have two and they are). Not made any longer AFAIW. Quote
jazzyvee Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago I do have a 3U SKB that is similar to that too, which is great as the fat handle helps carrying it with my weighty preamps. Most of the flight cases seem to have slim handles which are unpleasant to carry with heavy stuff in. Currently I use a 4U SKB roto shallow rack with a 1U power amp. I would prefer to move the 1U power amp into the 3U rack with my bass power supply and F1-x preamp for a lighter rack. Then use my 2U Crown XLS amp into fat handled 5U, Ideally, shallow rack with two pre-amps and a bass psu. So the fat handle will help with carrying the weight. Quote
