Hi,
Am I missing something here?
I've just listened to an NS WAV with gut-a-like on it, and it sounded far more realistic than pretty much any WAV I've listened to.
But would they work on a CR4M? Wouldn't there be an issue with the magnetic pick ups not picking up none metallic strings?

How did you listen to it, live, recorded, and if the latter, a trusted source? Could be a modded instrument with a bridge PUP or similar installed? I've tried guts and gut-a-likes on EUBs before without much success, even with decent PUPs. Only way you'll know is if you try for yourself though 👍

These string won't work with magnetic pickups as they need their magnetic field to be perturbated to produce a tension (induction) that can be amplified, hence metallic strings.

That said, it will work with the integrated piezo pickup.

The WAV is, I think, a piezo pick up, so will pick up vibration, as opposed to magnetic signal.

If I understand you're suggesting the WAV is able to pickup non-mag strings while the CRM isn't. The CRM has both EMG mag and bridge piezo so as Tony says, it would work, you simply have to try it to know how it would sound to your ear and style, although you would have fewer tonal options than you would with steel strings as the mag PUPs would be out of the equation
