Chienmortbb Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I bought one of the 3D printed kits from Ebay. It just needs some 25mm x 25mm stripwood and eight woodscrews. I carefully cut the stripwood, 4 pieces, to the length I wanted. All good and I used some dark mahogany wood stain I had in the garage. There was a little bit of a wobble so I unscrewed the screws slightly and pressed on two corners to try to straighten it out. CRACK! B*gger. After calming down, I used the remainder of the wood to replace the broken brackets. I also added some feet to give an angle and some small blocks to add strength. Adding the new side pieces adds 50mm to the width, and it is now bigger than the padded bag I keep my pedal board in! Here it is with the wood colour on again: 9 Quote
Chienmortbb Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 It is really strong now, there are 75m wood screws (8) although I know that the adhesive should be enough on its own. I have a surprise or two tomorrow as the project progresses. Quote
nekomatic Posted May 8 Posted May 8 People with 3D printers being so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn’t stop to think about whether they should. 1 Quote
itu Posted May 9 Posted May 9 75 m bolts! That's cool, where did you find them? From a submarine dockyard? The board looks cool, much cooler than with those printed parts. Quote

Yes I am pleased with the look although in hindsight, I should have re-thought it and perhaps made it bigger. I have been unwell for the last 10 days so not more progress to report. Name this board REV M, and make two more: REV S, and REV L. Everybody has extra pedals lurking in the corners: one board is never enough. 1 Quote
Chienmortbb Posted Thursday at 08:34 Author Posted Thursday at 08:34 Looking at the current board it suits the Zoom B1 Four pus other pedals in a line. It will take the B2 Four but only if one of the other pedals is sideways. Looks like I will be making another one, taking account of all the lessons* of this one. It may be longer or add another cross beam, I will leave that until this one is finished. I have a gig on Saturday so I need to get a move on. Some of you will have seen that I am making an onboard Power Supply for this pedal board. That is progressing well. Of course there have been issues* but the latest iteration dies not semi to add any noise to the pedals I have. The material used for the top panel is strong enough but is really hard to work. Back to good old aluminium for the next one. Quote
