basstone Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I had this monster 400W valve amp in the workshop this week for a check over. Generally in good shape and just needed one ECC83 in the preamp and a new thermal trip. Thankfully all of the power tubes checked out OK otherwise it would have been an expensive job. I Was quite impressed by the build quality and it was easy to get to everything and set the bias (see photo for procedure). I didn't get to try it out in anger with a bass and cab, but the tone options seemed to work quite well. 3 1 Quote
The Funk Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I don’t understand any of it but it looks wonderful to me for some reason! 1 Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 beautiful sounding amps. Marshall really don't get anywhere near enough Bass love. Although unfortunately, this is the only bass amp they now make 😒 1 Quote

They look good, sound good, weigh a ton and can be expensive to maintain. It was fairly easy to work on and this one was in great condition! Also make good room heaters as an added bonus! 1 Quote

thebigclunk48 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Mine gave me great service for many years, until I got too old to lift it. Not quite as much bass as my Ampeg Portaflex but 10 times the weight! Quote
