Power cable diagram

Hellos !

im looking for a diagram to make i voltage doubling lead. 
two 9v ports on power supply (voodoo 4x4) joined together to run a single 18v pedal 

so far I’ve found couple of “variations” can’t be both right !

I could show you how it would be wired but I would have no confidence that, even if you did it right, it wouldn't blow up in your face, quickly or slowly.

I’ve ordered one from gak for the sake of a few quid as I’m not convinced regarding the conflicting diagrams I’ve found
