Ashdown CTM30 All Tube Bass Amp/Head In mint condition; only used at home a few times. Comes with roqsolid cover. I am selling because it does not get used.  I am Willing to travel approximately an hour to an hour and half away to meet up. Based near J10 of m6 West Midlands. I think I would be rather concerned about posting an all tube amp.

What Ashdown say:

Rated at 30W, the CTM-30 brings classic all-tube tone in a compact head ideally suited to studio recording and small gigs where you don't have a team of roadies to carry your rig! 4 and 8 ohm speaker outs provide a wide range of cab options.

Powerful preamp and EQ

Equipped with hi and low inputs for active or passive basses,  CTM-30 combines traditional Bass, Mid and Treble EQ with additional flexibility of Mid Shift, Bass Shift and Bright Switching, unlocking a wide range of classic and contemporary all-tube tone from its ECC83 and ECC82 preamp tubes and smooth but powerful 30W EL84 power section.

The standard tone controls give you a wide range of uber-musical sounds, while Deep, Mid Shift, and Bright switches let you fine-tune your tone to the situation. The EQ section is a passive tone circuit - meaning if all controls are at zero there will be no sound through the amp. All the controls are highly interactive, giving you the possibility to dial in exactly what tone you want. Don’t be scared to dial the pots all the way to get the most from the controls.

Professional Balanced DI

With it's modest 30W output, we've included a balanced DI, perfect for studio recording or for larger gigs where you need to get pure DI signal to the desk with a minimum of hassle.

Transparent Effects loop

For effects junkies who want to bring yet more colour to the tone, the front-mounted effects loop makes it easy integrate your favourite stompbox and multi-effects with minimal tonal degradation.

Hiya.

I have searched on net and can't find any reference to valve drive DI.

I can only find the following info on Ashdowns products page/specs.

DI OutputLine Level - 1k

Effects Send Valve Driven Instrument level

Effects Return Valve Recovered

I now the specs on the larger CTM amps definately say valve driven DI.

I can only find this from an 'Ashdown manual for Valve series'; manual includes Ashdown Little Bastard which I believe CTM30 was or may have been derived from.

Manual states: DI OUTPUT - This XLR socket is used to connect the amplifier to a low impedance, balanced input on a PA system or recording mixer. The DI output is taken from a separate winding on the output transformer, allowing the full character of the valve tone to be sent to the PA or recording console.

Thanks for the info! That does sound like it might be similar?... Either way if it sounds and records like a more portable version of the CTM 100, then I'd definitely be interested. I'll have a ponder!
