BigBeefChief Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Went to the Galley at lunchtime. Played my first headless Status - just unplugged though. Firstly, although 80's looking, I liked how compact it was. Also very well finished. Didn't balance on my knee at all, but maybe thats because I'm used to much heavier basses. I must say though, that in terms of action, it had to be the easiest bass to play I've ever picked up. The action was so low, the string tension seemed low as well, and every lick was so easy to play! Without doubt the most playable bass I've picked up! There's certainly something to be said about a graphite neck. I still won't own one though - due to finding it slightly uncomfortable to play whilst sitting and the slightly dodgy looks. I'd also be concerned that it sounds a bit "hi-fi" to me. I'd have to stick some flats on it. I can see what you fellas like them though.
