Hey gang

Hoping someone can help me with a silly question.

In the P wiring diagram below, what would be the effect - if any - of swapping the two connections highlighted? (i.e. cap soldered to the left tab, volume pot soldered to the middle)

I know nothing about electrickery so be gentle 🙂

Thank you.

On the Master Tone... not a lot as you are only using 2 of the connections...

As shown you are feeding one end of the track and reducing the amount of resistance to zero / ground with the wiper... If connected as you describe, you are simply feeding the wiper...

(and If you fed the other end - free terminal the tone effect would work the other way as you turn...)

Import wiring is at the Vol, all terminals are used... one in, one out (the wiper) and one ground... so the wiper out is the difference between top and bottom... swap top n bottom and ya Vol will work backwards - or forwards for a left handed bass!...

Tone is an 'amount of resistance' between 2 connections - Vol is the 'difference in resistance' between one end to the other - 3 connections...

Anyone got a P schematic diag rather than a wiring position diag?
