erisu Posted June 9, 2020 Share Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) Hi all, Looking into an Ibanez Premium 5-string bass but I've searched high and low to see if anyone has any feedback on Ibanez's 'Low Gloss' finish but to no result. What sort of finish is this? Is it something between a high gloss and satin finish? As it looks quite shiny already do the areas where you play (forearm, thumb rest on top of pickup) get glossy/oily? What about cleaning it? Can I clean it with regular guitar polish and a microfibre cloth? Keen to hear how existing Ibanez owners get on with this finish. ebenezer Posted June 10, 2020 Share Posted June 10, 2020 I had a sr 2405w with the low gloss finish....didn't have it long, not really my cup of tea, it also struck me that in time there would be shiny patches in the finish where your arm/fingers rest when playing.....Also, regarding the setup, i had to have it fret dressed as it had some uneven frets, even after that it wouldn't take low set-up.....sorry for the rant, mine may have been a friday night bass lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
