There is a cutaway in the scratchplate so it's accessible and Fender very kindly supply an adjuster tool as standard. It's a kind of long ball ended Allen key with a T handle so tweaking the trussrod is a doddle. I owned a '62 Re-issue Jazz and very quickly got fed up with having to take the neck off to adjust it. f*** that. I'm only getting rid of it because I just prefer the Precision sound and since I got a Precision I don't pick up the J anymore. I've been toying with the idea of getting a 5 string for a while and I like the Stingray sound so it seems like a good idea at the moment Give it some thought. The main problem I see is that you're in Manc and I'm down here so it would be logistically difficult. Don't worry if you're not keen, I'll probably put it up for trade in a new thread.
