*TRADED* Warwick Corvette $$ Double Buck 5 string [FS/FT] £700
£800
Norwich

Recommended Posts

Hiya

Rather sadly I'm just not playing my Warwick basses anymore so I think it's time they found a new home, so here's my 2006 Double Buck ($$) 5 string.

The finish is a bit worse for wear in a few places but from the front it looks pretty good still, nothing much you'd notice when it's on stage.

It plays fine and sounds good, just like you'd a expect one of these basses to - if you don't know much about them have a quick Google, you won't hear many bad words said. Loads of tone options with the pickup selectors, a friend of mine has one of these too and I can quote him as saying he's never managed to get a bad tone out of it.

I believe being a 2006 model it would be German made, if anyone knows different please correct me!

I fitted the Dunlop recessed strap lock myself (to match the Thumb NT 5 I'm also selling) as the original ones had worn out, I will of course provide the strap buttons to go with it.

It'll also come with the manual and truss rod tool etc, I'll dig that out and get a pic later if I get a chance.

Don't be shy if you've got any questions, I'll answer as best I can but I know there's a few guys on this forum who know their Warwicks inside out if we get stuck. Likewise, if you know I'm wrong on any of this it's not intentional so please feel free to let me know!

I'm asking £700 (was £800, now reduced) but I'm open to negotiations, I've had a quick search about online and all I can't find another one to gauge the value against - just the Rockbass ones which are £800 new, whereas a proper Warwick won't get you change from £1500.

I'll consider trades plus cash either way, I'd be interested in;

Exotic woods/finishes/body shapes on basses, Warwicks with the pre '00s neck profile, Status, Dingwall, something unusual - 5 stringers only. Darkglass heads, barefaced cabs.

Cheers!

Bump from me too - heard these played in a fusion band live and was very impressed with the buttery phat bass.

I want this so bad :(

I'm happy to take trades for the right gear, only straight trades or cash my way though I'm afraid.

Can't seem to edit the text of my original post to add it, but I'd also be interested in trading for a Line 6 Helix. Cheers!

Price drop to £895 / Sensible offers
An absolutely stunning example of a candy apple red with matching headstock Maruszczyk Jake 5+ P/MM that is around 7lbs / 3.2Kg in weight,
Fitted with passive Delano MC5 HE/M2 and PC5 HE/M2 pickups and comes with a Hiscox hard case.
New D'Addario nickel rounds fitted but I can include some used DR Sunbeams if you'd prefer.
      No trades
If you've ever wanted a lightweight 5 stringer that weighs so little that a 2 or 3 hour set leaves little to no impression on your ageing shoulders, then this is the bass to have

Temporary Price drop to £650 for two weeks, get it whilst its cheap!! (will ship within mainland UK for additional £35)
I'm somewhat reluctantly selling my Pro series Warwick Star Bass 5 string. This bass is the older model made in Korea (not the current Chinese made Rockbass model) and is 34" scale rather than the current 32" scale basses. The bass is in overall very good condition with a few belt buckle scratches on the back (pictured) but otherwise very clean (the 3/4 pic of the front shows finger-print smears, not scratches!). The bass is finished in high-gloss 'Nirvana black' with cream binding on front and back. The pickups are the standard Warwick chrome plated MEC (the logo has rubbed off the neck pickup a little bit) and the electronics are stock passive with pickup selector switch (neck, both, bridge). There are some minor finish imperfections such as some small marks on the side of the fret-board, etc but these have been present from new. The star bass is a semi hollow-body design with a centre sustain block and a set neck which is glued to the body. The frets on this model are brass (rather than the nickle frets on the newer model). Comes with original Warwick strap-locks (which are ok but not great quality) and original adjustment tools.
The bass cost me about £1600 new from Thomann a few years back and has been a reliable workhorse, gigged mainly on relatively tame 60's cover band gigs where it fits perfectly in terms of style and tone. Comes with a sturdy Hiscox hardcase (shown in pictures) which on its own cost me well over £100.
Buyer collects from Norwich (or will meet halfway if within 100 miles of Norwich). Payment on collection with either cash or bank transfer.
EDIT: Added demo video with audio recorded directly with no compression or EQ. (video at bottom of images)

      REDUCED TO £500
For sale is my MTD Kingston Super 5, bought new from Bass Direct for £949 about 18 months ago. It has huge amounts of tonal range from twin MM-style pickups with dual 3-way coil tap switches and 3-band eq. It had a shade of neck-dive due to the tuners it came fitted with, so I upgraded them to USA Hipshot Ultralites (£125 for the set) and now it sits on a strap or the knee beautifully. The original tuners are also included in the sale. It's 35" scale, 19mm string spacing at the bridge, with a great low B. Satin Black finish, Laurel fingerboard. There's a bit of finger swirl in the finish below the strings, but otherwise it's in excellent condition. Here's a link to the specs: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MTD_Super_5_Black_maple.html
Now £500 including UK shipping. Sorry, but I'm looking for a straight sale, so no trades offers please.

One of the new tracks that we recorded in the studio just aired on the New Music Saturday Show.  Bass was an LX4 Warwick Streamer (the custom-made black stealth) into a GK Legacy 800 head.  Have a listen via the link below.  The track is 'Ground Down' by Before They Are Hanged and starts at 140:01 (scroll down and you can jump into the podcast right where the track starts):
