Fretting a Fretless neck

I made a stupid offer on a Yamaha bb350f on eBay and won it.

trouble is, I have a Fretless I already don’t use.

so who can shove new frets in? And what will I be paying...I know on an unlined bass it’s a dear do, but this has Fretlines...

Really it is not much more work than a re-fret as the fret lines are there.

Funnily enough I’m at the studio next to phil’s workshop on Monday.

i played his final dissertation build (hollow Ric inspired thing) in 2003!

Well, he wasn’t there to speak to on Monday, and hasn’t replied to my email.

I did however strike up a conversation with a mate who’d asked the same luthier to build him a custom bass 4 years ago and the wood still hasn’t been cut...

so im speaking with our very own @Andyjr1515 about options.

it arrived today and feels great. But very, well...fretless.

So we’ll see what costs are like.

As I Don't have any "luthier work" right now, it can be fast, if you're in a hurry…. (I think my friend Andy has a lot to do….)

If I get this bb200 for less than the £150 mark, I get the fretted 80’s p/j I want, and a fretless P project I fancy.

we’ll see, it’s up to £70 with a few days to go.

surprised really - but I put a bid in early, probably shot myself in the foot - but didn’t want it going walkies.
