Si600
I read Happy Jack's thread on his OBT, is it worth playing about with different valves in my GK 500 Fusion, or is that going down an expensive road chasing a setting or sound that I won't really know until I hear it? tommorichards
I feel like if you want to do that, you may be starting down a dangerous road known as the search for tone. If you can afford to, it's always worth pursuing, it's how places like this exist as people pass by on their own search for that elusive sound. I tend not to bother with changing valves, but it might be an idea to see if you can try out an amp with the valves you're thinking of using. Maybe a cheaper way to start. T-Bay
Do you know what you want? With the OTB the AX7s are quite aggressive to switching to AT7s gives more clean headroom while retaining the option of good old valve fuzz. If you have a clear objective then speaking to someone like Watford valves should be useful.
