Selling my Corvette unlined Fretless 5.
Turns out I’m not as good at fretless playing as I imagined so this just isn’t getting used. A real shame but I have my eye on something else.
Made in Germany in 2008. Bubinga body, Ovangkol neck with ebony fingerboard, with minimal markings.
Natural oil finish and carefully treated weekly with the Warwick wax. (Included in sale)
Passive electronics with volume, pick-up blend and tone controls. I was very surprised by the variety of sounds that come out of those controls! MEC dynamic correction pups.
Currently strung with Rotosound 45-130 flatwounds.
Weight is 6kg.
Includes Warwick Rockbag, surface finishing wax and truss rod tool.
Open to reasonable offers.
Buyer to collect from Warrington, Cheshire or can post at buyers expense.

I bought this last year from Goldbass via The Gallery. I really hoped my fat little fingers would get on with the beautifully shallow neck profile but sadly I am not getting the best from it.
Martin dates it at early 2000's and it is in amazing condition for a 15+ year old bass. One very small dent on the bottom of the front face - photo attached. Other than that it is immaculate.
Incredible build quality. Martin and John have an enviable ( and justified ) reputation and this one is a beaut.
Madrone Burl front and back, and matching peghead.
Flame maple / Wenge 7 piece neck
Ebony board lined with Mahogany ( very subtle ), blue LED's on the fret lines
Bartolini MM pup with series / parallel switch
ABM piezo bridge with piezo preamp ( internal controls ) to balance output with mag pup - set and forget.
Schack 18v preamp with internal dips for BMT centres / boost, volume and blend. Tone controls work on both mag and piezo.
Gotoh tuners, dunlop strap locks. Strung with Daddario chromes.
Weight on my scales just over 8lbs
Hiscox hard case.
Let me know if you need any more info.
Would trade for a Rob Allen 4 string fretless or other quality 4 string fretless - Sei, GB, Shuker, ACG, Sadowsky, Lull etc
Thanks for looking.
This Jaco Custom Shop bass was bought new in 2008 when visiting New York. It never got used after all so I am selling it. It might be a bit awkward to say about a relic bass but it is like new really. The bass hasn't been out of the case (OHSC) since 2008 and it still smells like a new one. You know that smell: better than any after shave or perfume! 😉 The bass played perfect right away after so many years in the case. I exchanged the original roundwound strings with Thomastik flatwounds (I did keep the original strings that are still like new too) and did some personal tweaking with string and pick up height. Due to the lower tension of the Thomastiks I also adjusted the trussrod a bit so I can say it works perfectly fine. Somehow this CS Jaco feels and plays like a bass that I have been playing for many years. However, I'm not a Jaco or even a fretless player really... so.... I really enjoyed having this bass in my hands a short bit...I made these pics and put it back in the case for it to comfortably wait for the right person to give it the right overdose of playing & caring. Is it you?
I'm selling my Status S2 Classic, 5-String, fretless, bolt-on, headed bass. I'm selling it, because fretless is just not for me and I prefer to play my other two fretted Status basses. So this one is just lying around and that's a pitty.
The specs are: S2 classic, 5-string, bolt-on, plain fretless, headed, black phenolic fingerboard
standard string spacing (18mm), 35'' scale, Facing-wood: maple, Back-wood: Mahagony, Tone-block: Walnut, Veneer: red, Finish: natural
2 x Soap-bar pickups, Board 302, Hardware: Gold, Custom options: Figurd Maple, Plain Fretless with Custom "Wrap-Round" Side Markers
The original Status hard case is included together with the original tools and keys for the hard case.
I'm the first owner and I bought the bass back in 2009 directly from Status.
As you can see on the pictures there is a Roland GK-3B pickup/controller installed with screws on the bass. I used the bass (mostly at home) together with my Roland VB-99 system, so that's why the GK-3B pickup/controller is installed. Maybe you will not like that, but it's there, and if I remove it there will be holes of course, so I think it's a better idea to keep the GK-3B on the bass, and maybe somebody will even have a use for it.
There are marks on the fretboard as I play roundwound strings, but I think not too many as this bass was played very little in general.
Currently there are new Elixir Nanoweb Super Light strings mounted (40-125).
The bass is located in Germany. Shipping is possible of course.
