    AER amp one

You could be right but Tannoy managed such bass levels for many years using dual concentrics. My AER THREE is indeed a bass marvel featuring, I think, 2x 8” Spica or Faital drivers. Don’t know which 10” the ONE uses, anyone in the know?

    AER amp one

Why not a dual concentric speaker in lieu of the stock? Might be worth a shot. I’d look to Italy for inspiration - RCF, 18 sound, B&C etc. someone must have an intriguing solution.
  3. Just completed a deal with Tim Cook for a wonderful Jerzy Drozd. The bass is superb but even more noteworthy was Tim’s handling of every aspect of the transaction - he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thanks Tim very pleased!
  4. Can you let us know where 1505 is on sale at great price? Thanks
  5. Hi Obby - thanks so much for your reply and for the clarification. After a bit of digging, it seems to me that this is not a short scale model, your measurements also confirm this. I haven’t seen this color in a shortscale but in the Emerald Green only. I’m happy to be corrected. Additionally, the string installation problem totally clarifies why a new set is called for. Hope your sale goes well and once again, many thanks for your transparency.
  6. Can you add a few details as to why bass needs new strings and what tweaking is required. Thanks.
  7. What is the weight? Thanks
  8. Yes, light is the driving force- under 4kg. His other basses are great but now with his condition, far too heavy.
  9. My post did put <1500 sorry to confuse with economic - as you say everyone has his/her own idea of that!
  10. My friend has 2 excellent Human Basses that he loves. His medical condition dictates that he gets a 5 string 34/35 under 4 kg < 1500 euro. He’s not a Fender man! all ideas most welcome
  11. Al - no feedback with speaker on floor. Only thing to watch is bass drum mic as it is at similar level. one of our friends here uses mismatched speakers - both ALTOS - 15” on floor and 10” on the pole. Wowza but seems to do the trick 🤔 BTW just read an article that QSC have suspended production of their KS & K speakers plus a bunch o other stuff. Absolute Music confirmation that supply constraints with all brands continue due to pandemic and the joy of Brexit!
  12. Ok - this really is the last time!!!! Get Rcf 702 mk2 or even slimmer but more £ - QSC K112 combine with your current 10”,rcf. My question to you Al. Do you have somewhere near your home where you can see and evaluate PA gear? Absolute Music in Poole was great. They stock RCF.
  13. I realize my suggestion of a small sub has received a communal snub BUT just go test it out. With a sub you are buying a single extra item that completes the sonic spectrum. It will make the whole system shine - our modest ALTO achieves it with minimum extra weight and little $$$ outlay. You get an RCF Or QSC SUB and you will slay. Got a feeling that you’d actually like to get better mains - Yam DZR , RCF 745 NX etc. That is serious dosh ! Right - other mash up solution - take one of your spanking new 12”s off the stand and place it behind you (yes, flies in the face of accepted wisdom!), towards a corner. You will increase bass response and get plenty of funny looks. ‘We’re in Spain and play in tricky to access spots. We’ll use a wheelbarrow or a deckchair to get gear across beach ands cliffs. Anyway will say no more!
  14. Have 2 systems: 1. Yamaha dxr12 x2 2. QSC K8 x2 and ALTO 212s 12” sub #1 doesn’t cut it for me on bass whereas #2 handles bass and BD with little effort and no muddying of vocals. ALTO is a cheapie. Why not add small sub - RCF 702, Qsc ks112 to your 310a? Seriously worth testing before forking out for slightly bigger RCF mains that might not do the job. Know you going for compact but just a thought…..
  15. AER AMP 1 or 3 - used as over budget new. Great power and sound with super flexible pre and Eq. Connectivity is most complete I’ve ever encountered. Hard not to recommend the Markbass 121p or its derivatives. As you say, GR AT do look nice.
  16. Used to gig one of these in the 80s. Fabulous build and tone and the built in flight case is genius…..until you come to lift it! Amazing bargain at this price!
  17. If you have a pc/Mac, be sure to use the Line6 editor for setting up your sounds; it makes everything so much easier, particularly as you can use a good size screen rather than the diminutive one on the Stomp itself. All you need is to connect PC to Stomp via USB printer cable. Am in similar age group and made the change pretty easily. I also have patches set up for acoustic and electric guitars for use in our duo. Glad you’ve found a nice band - good luck!
  18. My friend bought a 40 for use with his Gibson ES175; sounded great. I believe Studio 40 offers lots of presets and effects = a world of fun ! Go for it, nothing to lose.
  19. In our post Brexit world, the difficulties of shipping have multiplied exponentially, making UK/EU transactions much less practical. I live in Spain and in the past have enjoyed jumping on BC, cruising the classifieds and doing my bass shopping. I have noticed in ads an increased reluctance to ship and much more “UK only”. In real terms, this means that a large % of ads are now closed to me and many others. Do members think it would be useful to introduce a rapid visual way to identify shipping willingness? Something like… A pickup only B uk only C worldwide Another option might be expanding the classifieds to include an international section or something similar. Or……?
  20. I have the AER AMP THREE and it is fabulous!
  21. The new NUX looks like fun
