Stan_da_man
An EDB made of basswood or an SR made of mahogany? Very quick question.
Dood
My gut answer would be that there may not be much in it (noticeably) especailly if what was expected to be the lighter piece ended up just being a heavier lump than usual. If you see what I mean.
Tait
dont know bout the EDB but i play a SR500. Its very light, i can't see the EDB being much lighter. The difference in weight between my SR and my other guitars, like the Warwicks and Fenders, is unbelievable. I really noticed when i chose to take the Precision to a 2 hour long band practise, it felt really heavy whereas I could play my soundgear for much longer and still be comfortable with it. If you are looking for a light bass i would definatly recommend the SR500
EdwardHimself
^haha if you want a light p-bass check out a tanglewood p copy, it probably floats on water!
Mikey D
I have the Ibanez GWB35 and it is made of bass wood. It is ridiculously light. The lightest bass I have owned.
mark_random
The SRs are unbelieveably light. I have both basses you mentioned to hand now and the SR is the lighter of the two. They are also fabulous sounding and play like a dream!
Bassmurf
I've just recently got a SRX390 and it's about half the weight of my Fender Precision!
Delberthot
My SR1006 was light as a feather - i fact if I didn't tether it down it would take off of its own accord Okay that's rubbish but light weight aplenty with an SR bass
