laquering a new body

Recommended Posts

I have an urge to make a natural 75 reissue type jazz using a hard Ash body and 70s spacing.
I know about the sanding bit - does anyone have any recommendations for particular sanding sealer, and clear lacquer - tinted or not.
I want it nitro and to be a thin coat.

There will be tort content later

thanks

You really cannot beat YouTube for a lot of these things. But from experience sanding, then sanding again.....with maybe a bit more sanding. Then.....very important make sure that any dust from the sanding is removed! Usually a damp but not too damp cloth suffices.

I have always used these for any nitro paints, I have never had a bad can and always got better results than I could rightly have expected!

I always use the nitro from Steve at Manchester Guitar Tech too.

I've used his lacquer on my various builds and refinishes over the past few years - fabtastic stuff.
