This bass is the amalgamation of a 78 ash body and 79 maple neck. Done so to match the resonance of the body and neck timber as Fender should do in the first place (as per [/size][/font][/color] [color=#000000][font=UICTFontTextStyleBody][size=4]Sadowsky Lakland et al) The bass was put together by Chris (Beedster off Basschat and Cambridge) and anyone that knows him will understand that he buys period necks and bodies and builds them as matched pairs and he made a fantastic instrument with this neck and body. Resonant and vocal doesn't go halfway to describe this fretless. Anyway, the neck was dressed and refinished by Martin Sims and is a perfect combination of restoration and refurbished original lacquer and wood, the body when I got it was finished in a 'Sting' see through red but the original finish appeared to be a burst so I had Dave Wilson DWilson Guitars refinish it in his usual immaculate mirror like finish. The bass is loaded with original 70s machines, pickup and circuit. Non original parts are pick guard, bridge (badass II) and case, although a 78 original case it is not original to the bass.
