I've been offered an ealy 90's Washburn MB8 in a trade. I'm told they are pretty good, USA made with Status pickups.
Has anyone played or owned one, what did you think of it?

Mild topic hijack. A mate of mine who is just starting to learn the bass has been given a 1992 dated MB-2 (essentially a passive P bass) that is a bit tatty, but that I have offered to clean up and set up for him. Seems nice enough although the green speckly colour is a bit lurid. Still it cost him £0.00 and stopped a perfectly usable bass going in a skip.

Actually really enjoyed taking the thing to pieces yesterday and getting the accumulated layer of gunk off the bass and then reassembling it. Cleaning the fretboard as the hardest part, took a few hours but the result was worth the struggle. Just waiting for some new electrics from our very own Kiogon so I can assess the pickup. Static resistance looks pretty low so wondering if it might be faulty.
