Fender USA vs. Highway 1 Serial Numbers

A quick question for my learned Fender friends....

Are there any differences between the Serial numbers for US and Highway 1 basses (dated 2005) and where they are printed on the bass itself (IE back of headstock or near the neckplate etc).

Also, would anyone know if honey blonde was an option on 2005 US Jazz basses?

So may questions, so little time....

Hi OHM, I dont think theres a difference in HW/1 and USA, i had a look under [url="http://www.fender.com/support/"]http://www.fender.com/support/[/url] but couldnt find anything that says otherwise.

I havnt got a copy of 2005 Frontline, but Honey blonde wasnt avaliable for the US Jazz in 2004.

US "made" Jazz Basses came in honey blonde, think they would be H1's with Z...serial no's on the head stock. I don't think the H1's had the sealed F logo machine heads.

A 2005 Highway 1 should have the truss rod access at the headstock, like Mexican Fenders. Plus the HWs have a matte finish unlike any other Fender basses. Honey Blonde was and still is a stock colour for HWs.

My H1 jazz has the serial number on the reverse of the headstock, I can't remember what it starts with - I'll post again.

Most obvious way to tell the difference would be that a US Standard P Bass of a similar age to an H1 bass has got through body stringing at the bridge and an H1 doesn't.
