If its any help i'm sure i read somewhere that on the early stranglers stuff they only had an AC30 so everything went through that. The joyo pedal is very much an 'amp simulator' rather than straight overdrive too, i'm not a million percent sure what the difference is to be honest..! But its got that marshall hollowness to it... PaulWarning Posted March 25, 2015 Share Posted March 25, 2015 went to see the Stranglers at Rock City in Nottingham last night, enjoyable gig, but, his bass tone was nothing like I would have expected, they came back for a 2nd encore and did Peaches, sounded bassy and distorted, Walk on By wasn't any better either.
