Matte_black Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) Hello! It's still a feeler 'cause I love how this preamp sounds on the power stage of my Twin Valve but... I have too much stuff. It works perfectly, the two front handles are missing but they're useless since it's such a tiny and light unit. More or less the same preamp used on the SWR SM400. http://support.swram...dfs/sm400om.pdf Made form '84 to '94, never dated it though. I'm after £250 + shipping. symcbass Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 What are the eq frequencies for the parametric please ? Cheers.
BassBod Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 You can often see the date written on the transformer, or on an inspection label inside. Nice things these...I've used my Studio 220 a lot over the last ten years or so.
Matte_black Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 I'll check the parametric frequencies asap. There's no date outside the chassis so yeah, I guess they've put it on the inside
Matte_black Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Ok, just got back with the frequencies: 31-160, 80-320, 200-800, 400-16000. Hope it helps!
paul_5 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 The EQ on these old SWR preamps is about as flexible as you could wish for. The four knobs allow the user to dial in the centre frequency, and the sliders are plus or minus 15dB, added to that a master 'bass' and 'treble' control either side of those controls and there's not a bass sound that you can't get. Takes a bit of getting used to, but well worth the effort.
