Before the internet there was nothing like as much available info and this would probably have been sold relatively local as for example a 69 Jazz. Most people would not have known any better. Could simply be the previous or original owner wanted a rosewood board but it originally had maple, so he bought another neck. Could be a lot of reasons that we will never know. Fact is that now, we all can source this info quickly and he appears to have an expensive bitsa to sell. CH161 Posted November 17, 2014 Share Posted November 17, 2014 Looks like a legitimate description to me. I imagine he did buy it as a 69 himself. The pups are 1974 - and the solder over the pot dates suggests someone was trying to disguise the date. This guy is being honest. Priced a little high but not ridiculous.
