The reason I ask, is I'm playing a couple of unplugged gigs off the back of a sailing trip in Scotland next year (you can't make it up sometimes) and I need a short or medium scale acoustic bass with a hard case. Might need a bigger boat...to use a famous line. I'm still interested though. I'm having a cull myself, aiming to get down to just one Jazz and an acoustic so I can practice unplugged. lawriemacmillan Posted January 11, 2015 Share Posted January 11, 2015 I was indeed given a very generous loan of this bass, and played it direct through the PA at a gig in Bethnal Green. I remember putting a bit of foam under the strings near the bridge and achieved a dubby/double bass sound. Although I'm more accustomed to a longer-scale Washburn acoustic 5 string, it didn't take me long to find some nice sweet spots on the neck. It's not bulky either, so it would make a handy bass to have sitting on a stand for home practice/learning songs etc. Great value for money!
