OK, OK, I know, it's not the most complex Rush arrangment. But I found it lurking in the depths of my MP3 player and thought, "Fine, I'll give it a go." Talk about inspired...! I thought I'd maybe get the roots figured and take it from there, but I played the whole damn thing - all the runs, all the fills, everything! Have you ever sat down to play something new and it's just sort of come to you? Isn't it a wonderful feeling? Just wanted to share a happy moment. It's the little things. bnt Posted July 24, 2008 Share Posted July 24, 2008 I've had the experience a few times with Rush, including: [i]Red Barchetta[/i], [i]Middletown Dreams[/i], and (more recently) [i]Far Cry[/i]. Mind you, I've been listening to it on and off since Permanent Waves came out, so I know it pretty well. KevB Posted July 25, 2008 Share Posted July 25, 2008 I used to be able to play most of it, it was always the bit where the bass is doing the run very tight with the drums just before the main riff that I found a struggle. When I saw a proper transcription I realised why - a *lot* of notes in a short space of time, very easy to slurr them together. On the subject of Rush, has anyone seen the tribute band Bravado? I'm considering seeing them tonight in Sutton-in-Ashfield, wondered what anyone thought, the clips on their web site are poorly recorded so hard to tell...
