Ernie Ball Musicman Reflex Gamechanger Bass Guitar Immaculate - 4 String HH Model

£1350.00 plus postage, or available to pick up.

Trade value of £1800 against high end fivers (and some 4 string basses), especially Musicman, Sadowsky, Fender CS. I would consider a Musicman 4 string IF its the right bass (e.g. a Classic Stingray). However, I'm trying to stick to covers for most my basses. Feel free to PM though.

This bass is the top of the line of Musicman basses.

Standard spec is here: http://www.music-man...me-changer.html

Gamechanger information is here: http://gamechanger.m...man.com/home.eb

Immaculate condition. It still has the factory sticker/barcodes/factory instruction stickers. Not one mark…as new.

Firstly, lets get the bots we want most out the way.

Weight - Website states around 8 lbs 14 oz. I've tried weighing it a few ways/few times with Wii Fit and kitchen scales. See pic below - 4136g - 9.1 lbs.

Approx. between 8.5 and just over 9 lbs (9.1) depending on position on scales and how it was held.

Balance - Perfect balance. I tried a few different strap positions, and with a normal EB strap without padding or 'stickiness' to stop instruments moving, it is perfectly balanced. This ir probably due to the smaller headstock and new Musicman lightweight tuners (noted below). The 25th Anniversary Bass, before the Reflex came out, did not have these new tuners (although they had a certain model different from a Stingray) and I believe there was talk of neck dive. Not so with this new model. Spot on, comfortable, balanced, usual EBMM perfection when it comes to ergonomics.

It's a thick gloss black with stunning cream binding. Perfect quality control, perfect neck to body match up, dark rosewood board, new Musicman tuners (now on the Bongo/Big Al/Reflex and this model). Matching gloss black headstock. Gamechanger logo on the rear, additional inputs for Midi and the USB cable. The world is your oyster with this bass! Perfect balance and lighter than most Stingray's I've played. It's a nice low-mid weight, no scales to weigh at the moment though, sorry.

HH Pickups – The same as the Reflex 4 HH. One of the best Stingray bridge tones I've ever heard. That, and a boatload of other tones. You can get anything out of it. 4 band active EQ, or completely passive settings with passive tone control. The bridge pup IS in the Stingray sweet spot. The mahogany tone block really does add a certain something. The passive tones are what really surprised me…very balanced, good balance between active/passive switching, etc. They have really gone to town with the sound of the bass.

Setup – Low actions, very very fast neck. See the specs for the neck/nut sizes etc. It feels faster than a Stingray to me.

Gamechanger - USB – I've updated the bass to the latest version. Basically you go to the Gamechanger site above, go to the Web App, plug in, and then you change all of your pickup settings. You can save them, experiment with them, change the Z Bank settings, download other user settings, etc. With some kit you can also do this via Bluetooth or connected to an iPad/iPhone as they have an iOS App now. You can do this once every now and then, mid gig, or never! Up to you. Stock, it has about 25 already preset amazing tones. ALL ANALOG. NO DIGITAL EMULATION.

All pups can be activated (basically 4 coils) in whatever settings you want, in any order, in phase, out of phase, series/parallel. Anything from modern Stingray zing, to a warm fat Gibson/Fender neck tone. Flick of the switch, it changes.

Midi – MANY possibilities to control many different things! Check the website for information.

Without the Gamechanger, this bass has all the passive presets, all the active presets (on the 5 way switch) plus the Z Bank which can be set to anything you want. The Z bank is currently Musicman's idea of great passve tones.

It is incredibly easy to use this bass. Not complicated, and very fun for a tweaker who likes to play with tones.

Why am I selling it? I want it in a fiver so I'm going to save up for when they make them!

Comes with its Musicman case, case keys, usb cable and the hang tags. The bass is as new, as stated. The case is in 'good' condition but not perfect, (virtually not scratches but a small dink in one corner...nothing that is bad).

Strung with new Ernie Ball nickel strings. Recently setup professionally this weekend.

I am more than happy to demo if someone is local (North East), and I can post as I have a decent box and packaging ready.

This bass will impress!

These are roughly £2300.00 at the moment.

Any questions, message me.

I am willing to ship, no problem. I may ship to Europe but will have to negotiate postage. I would prefer it if the buyer organised the shipping but this can be negotiated.

Lastly, it can be picked up.

Looks fantastic!

I definitely now want the 5 sting version when it comes out, but might have to get the standard Reflex 5 HH.
