Jamesemt
Sorry for the crap title. Just wondering if there is a console which plugs into your computer software making it feel like you are using a dedicated unit as opposed to using a mouse - ie for recording a track I'd click a button on my desk as opposed to using a mouse. To alter a volume I'd physically move a fader and not have to faff with the mouse... Anything exist which gives an analogue experience to PC digital software? There is surely a market for this type of thing!

Is there anything which is designed for cubase? Just getting to grips with it! Any others I should look at? How do they work? Do you have to assign the buttons, or is there something more complex that does it for you?

Probably worth it, but this is just a new hobby! Only thing that puts me off the Behringers is that I've just had a quick look at the manual, and assigning buttons/setting it up looks pretty difficult. As for whether a device supports Cubase: since they all use standard MIDI commands, you should be able to set up Cubase to work with anything, with a little effort. Some makers such as Mackie & Behringer provide compatibility files, so you don't have to go to that hassle.

If you mean the Novation ReMOTE ZeRO SL in that ad, the manual says that Automap Universal Mode is supported in Cubase LE 4 - or you can use Sequencer AutoMap mode for other sequencers that don't support AutoMap directly. lowdown
I got one of these about 6/7 months ago. Comes bundled with its own version of Cubase. Its a digital mixer / controller and a superb Audio interface. Its more money than you wanna spend. But in the long term, a good investment.Everything Bundled in. You can pick them up for just over £500. Its seemless with Cubase. Best bit of kit i have got hold of. dr.funk
Those Korg Nano controllers look fantastic! I have always wanted a padkontrol but couldn't justify the price, the nano one looks great
bennifer
I've got the Presonus Faderport. Its a single channel motorised fader, and has knobs for panning, etc. Its only one fader, but it has channel select buttons so you can flick through, and the fader moves itself to the position of the onscreen fader of the channel selected. Its a nice piece of kit and about £100.
