I've dropped Jon a line regarding a relic JB to which he replied that he's interested in making as it's something he's never done before. The question is - is it morally wrong for me to ask Jon to take a sander/chisel/a.n.other tool of destruction to one of his wonderful creations? shizznit Posted December 13, 2013 Share Posted December 13, 2013 Despite what your personal opinions are about relicing, it takes skill to pull it off convincingly so I guess most luthiers would accept that challenge. I would imagine it's quite a lot of fun. Fender put a lot of thought and technique into their custom relic instruments. Anything he turns his hand to will be carefully thought out, and will no doubt look stunning though so I'm sure you'll get a real beauty!! Make sure you post pics when you take delivery of it!
