Breedlove Atlas acoustic fretless bass - * TRADED *
£550

I got this mint condition, top quality acoustic bass about a month ago from BC'er dudi8. While most acoustic basses are a bit meh, this is much more clever with flexible LR Baggs preamp, smartly-engineered bracing and a pluggable side sound-hole (which gives you the option to hear yourself better if not amplified). I like it a lot but, after a try-out, have found that it will not get use in my band (they are set on me using double or Baby bass for all songs). Plus I tend to play at home on my Fender Jazz, if not out rehearsing/practising with the band.

I would like to sell for the same price I paid, ie, £550 (not interested in trades, sorry). Comes in solid hard case which took a small whack at one end on its way from dudi8 but remains in 8/10 condition and fully protective. Strung with Pyramid black nylon strings but also has the original bronze strings in the case. Handover in London preferred as I don't currently have a cardboard box and packing materials.

New these were £799 at BassDirect (from RRP of over £900) so £550 is a good price for one in mint condition http://www.bassdirec...dlove_Solo.html

PS, here is the LR Baggs preamp which has a comprehensive EQ section and phase switch (this is a different Baggs preamp from the one shown in the BassDirect link, hence I thought it best to add to thread)

satisfied is an understatement!

"After 2 years of looking for a professional level Acoustic bass to play in my Bluegrass band, I finally settled on the Breedlove and man was I taken by surprise a bit. Not only does this bass have a great tonal range, but the truss system helps to keep it in perfect tune 99% of the time, even after rough traveling. It looks fantastic, and the Bluegrass purists tell me it sounds the closest to my Old upright bass than any they have heard. To say I am satisfied is an understatement! My wish now is to get a custom shop model built for me, that I can play the festival tour with. I am sold, and a big thank you to "Breedlove" for their attention to detail, and excellent playability!"

Best Sounding Fretless Bass

I just came back from checking out this fantastic fretless bass made by your company.
I compared it to several others; all of them were made by well-known American, Japanese or German brands and considerably more costly
(some of them more than twice as much) - but none of them could really catch up.
I'd just like to let you know that this is honestly the best sounding fretless acoustic bass I've ever played - whether unplugged or amplified.
And it's alo good-looking and perfectly finished. Great playability, especially the neck is wonderful! Comes equipped with good strings, too.

I have just had an offer to trade my Breedlove for a really beautiful Fender P but unfortunately the other bass is too heavy for my glass back. So just to clarify, I really can't cope with anything above 9.5 pounds in weight if anyone is thinking of a trade offer.
