Danny Thompson Elitist string set * SOLD * £165

Selling a set of Danny Thompson 3/4 Elitist strings which are a chunky £145 new [url="http://www.basscentre.com/elites-strings/elites-danny-thompson-double-bass-strings.html"]http://www.basscentr...ss-strings.html[/url] These are in OK but not pristine condition (the silks seem very fragile and are slightly frayed but not badly so) but have had barely any playing time. I got them from Greg Cordez who owned them only briefly and I had them on my bass for a few weeks only before going back to growlier Spiro Mittels.[b] £[s]80[/s] 75 posted.[/b]

I play guts, but I did use the Danny T's strings on a recording last year and I found them superb on my bass. Clarky is spot on in saying that the lower strings are nowhere as growly as the spiros, but they are a very very good set of strings if you want the sound of steels without the super zingyness of the Spiros.
