Recording with my Yamaha RBX270 through a Marshall MB Series Amp...Recorded with a stupid mobile

Excuse the timing issues :s...

Didn't really rehearse this at all...Just went for it as I was in the mood.

Cocked up on quite a few bits.

Enjoy...(I hope)

Loved it, great job ;)

It irritates me when basses like the RBX270 and the Ibanez GSR180 are described as 'starter' basses. They are as well put together as many basses 5 times their value. The RBX in particular plays beautifully and produces very usable tones. There's no reason (except GAS and brand snobbery) why one couldn't use one as their main gigging bass for many years

Yep, I would agree.

I have a line fretless, which has been played by quite a few players of note (to me, anyway :D )
and all have said what a great bass!
It is one of the very few instruments I have ever bought new.
Went into a shop, trying to look casual and uninterested (just wanted a quick browse) picked it
up, thought is was nice and quick as a flash, the salesman had a lead in his hand and was leading me
to a stool and amp.
As Hagrid would say (Harry Potter) Oooerrr, I shouldnavedonethat!!

So nice, I couldn't resist and bought it.

Highly recommended.

Cheers. :)

How does the RBX370 compare to the 270? One sold near to me for £50. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-rbx-/271252885415?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3f27ee8fa7

@FlatEric. I have only played one fretless bass ever. Perhaps that should be 'played'. It was a Yamaha lined fretless, but I don't think it was an RBX. My humble opinion was that I loved it, and found it very surprisingly great to play. It was in a general second hand store and was £120 or so, but I thought that someday I'll pick up a MIJ lined fretless.

The 370 differs only in that it has active onboard electronics so, even more bass for your money

Thanks. It seems that they quite often sell for quite cheap prices. E.g. £62 here. That's throwaway money for a bass. Edit: After thinking a bit, I'm now fairly sure that the fretless bass I played was a RBX260F.
