Can anyone recommend the best type of thinner to use, because I'm a bit confused after having a google around, as there seems to be many different opinions, as to what is best. mrtcat Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 I'm no authority in this field but I found the rothko and frost premium nitrocellulose thinners to be good. I also think there's a fair argument for not mixing brands so maybe see if the manufacturer of the lacquer has something they recommend. It'll work, but is heinous stuff & can make the O rings in your gun swell up. 'Proper' cellulose thinners are usually based around acetone & toluene.
