SlapbassSteve
I'm very close to/in the process of leaving my current covers band due to... let's say 'creative differences' with the singer(apparently, leaning back on your bass amp for a couple of seconds between songs during the third set of a pub gig is now an offence punishable by temper-tantrum... ). Anyway, politics aside, music pays for my food and rent and I can't get by on the ukulele band alone, so I need to find another covers/function outfit sharpish before I'm forced to sell off a few guitars, or god forbid get a 'real' job. I've got a free profile on Musofinder, am hoping to head Curly's/Dawsons in town tomorrow and will probably post in the legendary 'Liverpool Bands' Facebook page, and of course I've posted in the 'bassists available' section on here, but is there anywhere else I could try? Leen2112
Gumtree? I've found folk there. Or do it oldschool and stick ads in music shops. Good luck. Leen.

gapiro
As above. Also Lemonrock has people in some areas. ( seems to be very regional ) Unfortunately contacts are always your best bet. Are there any music websites local to you? ( we have cambridgebands for example)
tommorichards
I just got into my band on joinmyband. Bandmix is alright, but to contact anyone, you need to be a premium member, unless they're sneaky enough to leave a phone number in a description. peted
I've used Musofinder with success in the past but people seem to have moved on to other sites. Postcards in rehearsal studios are still a great was of advertising.
SlapbassSteve
Cheers folks! Joinmyband looks very promising indeed, but I reckon the old fashioned way of checking out the notice board in local guitar shops might still be my best bet...
