Old accusound pickup

I've just been given an old accusound bass pickup, which (as you'd expect) is different to any of the current models.

It appears similar to the current one which fits in the arch of the bridge, but the cable exit is at one end, and the length leads me to think it's intended to fit under the feet. Does this sound right to anyone? (The output's VERY low too.)

I used one MANY years ago. No matter what I did with it the output was PITYFUL. It got a lot louder when some sort of pressure was put on it. Mine followed the arch of the bridge with double sided sellotape. If it was given to you then I would experiment with putting one end under a bridge foot.

I experimented with one of these. As mentioned above it is meant to follow the arch of the bridge with double sided sticky tape. Mine came with a microphone and a battery powered pre amp/blender that both plug into. The pickup had a small jack on the end that went to the preamp (not your usual size jack plug). The output wasn't that low really for me although it did have the preamp.

The sound wasn't too bad really. I also had a Shadow (Underwood copy) and felt the sound was similar to this pickup although perhaps slightly softer sounding.

In the end the Shadow was much more convenient and so went with this.

I do hope to try the Full Circle one of these days.
