Best cheap (circa £100) precision?

There are a range of cheapo Ps out there - Tanglewood, Squire, Johnson and Farida to name a few, but what you pay is what you get as they say. For 100 squids you could do a lot worse than a second hand Squire P. Try a few though out, see what suits you.

theres loads of cheap and cheerful basses out there, i paid 43 quid for one that sounds really nice but the finish leaves a lot to be desired on it and it has a fair bit of fret buzz, not a problem, just set it up to your own requirements and that should eliminate some of the problems, which is what i did with mine, mine lives on its stand in the living room and is picked up everysingle day, i"ve sprayed the headstock 2 different colours and the pickguard to match and it looks weird ( hell,it was only 43 quid) if it packed up tomorrow i wouldnt care, but its great to have around just to learn scales on or write bass lines.

like the burpster said dont expect it to play like a classic because thats never gonna happen.
To be honest if you just want it for lying around dont spend to much money on it and if you really like it then upgrade the pickups and bridge then at least you will have something that sounds half decent, i wont upgrade mine as a reasonably priced set of pickups and bridge would cost more than the guitar, i would rather spend the money on my mex precision or get a bigger amp.
THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
