Japanese made Squier J. 3 T sunburst, black scratchplate. Good nick, few dings which I will picture later.

I am struggling to price this (selling on behalf of someone else). It is a Japanese J without the magic big "F" on the headstock but it has the "S" which makes is an "F" really - kind of - you know what I mean. It plays nicely and does all a J should. I am not sure about the age so will get onto that this evening.

I will say £290. I guess the market will decide. It comes with strap and gig bag.

Hi Pal,

Judging by your serial number that's a 93-94. There aren't many of these that come up so it's a steal for anyone looking for a good jazz without spending a £600+ tag.

I've got an oly white one from 92-93. My first bass. And a superb bass really. I don't know about other people who have known these hands on, but if yours plays anything like mine then I'd say it is undervalued at this price as opposed to the other way round. I know I wouldn't sell mine for £290, but then it is sentimental as well.

All the best with the sale mate!

I have a Silver Squier Jazz bass which is a P serial number 93/94 that looks just like yours. I've owned a Geddy Lee and a 62 reissue, both MIJ, which have now been sold but I have kept hold of my Silver Squier. The pickups on these basses sound so much deeper and punchier than your normal Jazz and no other jazz bass I've owned or played sounds the same. I've done a bit of research and found that they were only made between 1992 and 1994 and were seen as a superior Squier at a time when most of the production had moved to Korea. What you'll notice is that the neck is somewhere between a precision and a Jazz at the nut which measures 40mm in width, rather than the normal 38mm for a Jazz bass.
As far as price is concerned I bought mine for £250 plus P&P just over two years ago and someone would have to offer me a lot more than that to make me want to sell it.

Not gonna lie: if this was a P bass I'd have to work something out! Alas I can't get away with owning a second jazz of the exact same model!

Cheers man! I got into a sniping war on it but got pipped to the post! Alas.

Anyway time to let this thread do what it was made to do: get that lovely SB jazz shifted. Whoever a considering the purchase, take it from an owner: lovely bass - you'll be more than pleased!
