For sale is a striking Rickenbacker 4003S bass made in 1986, which came factory-fitted with re-issue vintage pickups from the now discontinued 4001V63 model: a horseshoe at the bridge and a toaster pickup at the neck.

Asking price: [s]£1650[/s] £1550

The bass is in excellent condition, all original parts and no issues. Action is set low for easy playing. Includes Rickenbacker lined case.

Most will be aware that 'S' models are no longer in production and are very hard to come by over this side of the pond.

The horseshoe/toaster pickups are now only found on the more expensive 4001C64 model.

Specs/characteristics for this bass
- horseshoe neck pickup
- toaster neck pickup
- very thin neck
- slender non-bulbous headstock shape
- larger 80s body shape, no binding
- dot fret-markers
- black split-pickguard
- foam mute
- single mono output.

Cosmetic flaws
- 'MADE IN U.S.A.' is printed upside down on the truss rod cover
- very small surface scratch on the paint near bridge
- common to instruments of this age, body paintwork has a slight touch of 'orange peel' on close inspection. This was pointed out by the previous owner, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed – and I'm quite the finick.

I am based Ireland, so potential buyers should factor in the cost of postage or their preferred courier. Unfortunately I can't consider trades this time – no matter how tempting!

Any questions welcome, thanks for looking!
